The Big Cleanup

We kicked off the summer season by cleaning up our grounds together. God has given us a wonderful area, but with it comes a great responsibility: to ensure that everyone who visits us feels good and is pleased with the cleanup.

Most of our Church members attended the cleanup. We cleaned, mowed, and trimmed the bushes, and finally, we concluded our gathering with a bonfire and a prayer of thanksgiving to our Lord.

It’s good to build commitment and responsibility for the grounds throughout the community.

Board Game Evening

In mid-May, thanks to the support of our longtime friends Joshua and Bailey, we were visited by a group of people from The Summit Church, North Carolina (USA). Together, we organized several events for those interested in Zelów and nearby Łask.

We kicked off our series with a Games Evening, which we organized in conjunction with the BA-ŁA-GRA board game club, which operates in Łask. We invited everyone to play games together, allowing us to get to know each other better and compete in a friendly atmosphere. Not only were club members in attendance, but several people from Łask who had never attended club meetings also visited.

American Culture Day

Saturday brought another highlight to the program: the American Culture Evening, organized in partnership with the Cultural House in Łask. This time, guests were greeted by booths, each depicting a different chapter in American history.

We had a large number of visitors, eager to chat and ask questions. We had the opportunity to share the Gospel with several people.

Sunday concluded our series with a joint Polish-American Worship Service, to which we invited participants at each event.

Street Evangelism

This is the third consecutive year we have organized Street Evangelism in partnership with the “Kerygma” mission. This year, our goal was the market squares of the towns of Zelów and Bełchatów. For three days, we set up a tent, equipped with musical equipment, and sang in praise of God, interspersed with the proclamation of the Gospel. The format is very simple: 20 minutes of singing, 10 minutes of Gospel.

Our desire is to proclaim grace and salvation in Christ to all people in these towns. While we sing and preach, some of us distribute evangelism leaflets and speak with those who wish to speak with us. We pray for those who agree to this. We are here for people, to proclaim the Good News to them.

In our preaching, we focus primarily on the work on The Cross and the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We share our life testimonies through the microphone, how God has freed us from addictions. We also pray for these towns through the microphone, that the Lord will open people’s hearts to His Word.

During our evangelization, Sister Karolina, a missionary in our community, walked around the square and encouraged everyone to answer one question. This simple question: “What are you grateful for today?” It was a wonderful introduction to a conversation about gratitude for the most precious gift we have from Christ.

The entire three days of evangelization brought us many wonderful conversations and prayers for people. One young couple, who happened to be in Zelów, sat and listened to us for over an hour. When we approached them to talk, we discovered that God had touched their hearts and they had responded to the call of the Gospel. We exchanged contacts and directed them to communities in their towns. God constantly surprises me – these two young people appeared in Zelów for a moment, just as we were sharing the Gospel, and the Lord opened their hearts and transformed them.

District Service

In mid-May, we had the wonderful privilege of co-organizing the Central District Worship Service. It’s a full Pentecost Sunday, during which our 12 Central District congregations close their buildings and gather together. This year, over 450 people attended. We worshiped together, enjoyed each other’s company, and had a barbecue. I was responsible for organizing all the outdoor activities, including coffee, tea, cakes, and the barbecue.

HELP

A friend of mine, to whom I preached the Gospel, had an accident and lost part of his finger. Because I know what pain feels like, when he said he couldn’t manage his hives, I didn’t wait. It was a wonderful adventure for me, and a help for him—together we managed to harvest honey from his 10 hives.

Lectures on the Gospel of Matthew

I had the privilege of being invited to a convention of one of our congregations where I was able to share three lectures. I prepared the lectures from the Book of Miracles of the Messiah, chapters 8 and 9 of the Gospel of Matthew. It is a magnificent composition presenting Jesus as the Son of Man, the Son of God, God with Us—who calls people to follow Me.

I Baptist Church in Warsaw

At the very end of June, I had the privilege of sharing God’s Word at the First Baptist Church in Warsaw. I shared a passage from the Gospel of Matthew, which has been very close to my heart lately. The guiding passage was Matthew 12:38-45, but in the context of the entire chapter. The Pharisees and scribes demand a sign, but all they receive is the sign of Jonah—which is Jesus himself. The incredible shock in this story is Jesus’ words that the Gentiles (from Nineveh and the Queen of the South) will judge the Jews who did not believe.

I encouraged us to live as if Jesus were truly King and Lord in our daily lives, not just in our words.

Our Family’s Prayer

Everything you’ve read in this letter—every story, every meeting, and every endeavor—wouldn’t have happened without my wife, Asia. I’m often on the front lines, but the truth is that without her commitment, this ministry simply wouldn’t exist.

We dedicate ourselves together to serving the congregation and community in Zelów, but it’s Asia who quietly and with tremendous dedication builds our entire support base. She oversees the finances of our ministry and the congregation, handles logistics, coordinates meal and accommodation preparations, and ensures the order and perfect organization of every event. Her work and heart are a key element of our ministry.

We want to be completely open with you and share the challenge we face. Until now, our current financial support has only secured one full-time position. In practice, this means that although we both serve fully, I am technically the only one with insurance and paid retirement contributions. Securing Asia’s future still rests on faith and trust.

We are immensely grateful to God and to you for every offering and every prayer that has enabled us to function thus far. We are always grateful for what we have!

Our greatest desire and prayer is that we can continue to develop our ministry in Zelów while continuing to engage in this work full-time without having to divide our energies and resources between ministry and professional work. We pray for an expansion of our regular support base so that it can encompass both of us – as a fully-fledged, two-person missionary team.

The Needs of Our Church

Painting the Main Hall

Our Meeting Hall needs a complete overhaul of two of the walls facing it. Now that we’ve finally finished the roof repairs and nothing leaks down the walls when it rains, we need to remove the old plaster and replace the drywall. One wall is white, the others are cream-colored. They haven’t been painted in decades.

We are praying for funds to paint and renovate the walls of our chapel. We currently estimate the cost at around 2,000 USD.

Eco-coal for Winter

Another winter lies ahead, and more expenses for eco-pea coal. We ask for your prayers, as it is crucial for our community to have the building heated in the winter.

This allows us to take care of it and use it.

We need 4,000 USD for the coming winter.

We are also grateful to God that since He called us to this place, He has always faithfully provided for us. We also know that He knows what we need.
